BAGS Coordinator
Hours: Part Time at 5-10 Hours per Week
Job Description: The BAGS is our food pantry program where volunteers build relationships with program participants and deliver food to them once a month. The BAGS Coordinator position exists to coordinate volunteers, clients, partnerships, and all programming needs within our BAGS program.
Job Responsibilities:
Central Texas Food Bank partnership requirements including-
- Monthly reports to the CTFB
- Monitoring temperatures of freezers and refrigerators
- Keep track of pest reports on file. (Checked monthly, sprayed quarterly.)
- Place CTFB orders to keep food pantry stocked
- Contact with CTFB contact
Food Pantry-
- Keep stocked with food, cleaned, and organized
- Source food from sources other than CTFB when necessary
New Clients-
- Initial contact with individuals interested in receiving food
- Complete CTFB intake process to determine eligibility
Coordinate and seek out partnerships for food drives, financial donations, etc.
Coordinate with all volunteers-
- The person picking up food from CTFB on 1st and 3rd Mondays (if not picking up yourself)
- The person who cleans up and organizes the food pantry (If delegating to volunteer)
- Connect with the volunteers who deliver food. (They may have questions around how to handle certain situations, if MP can support families in certain situations, and whether they can take on more clients.)
- Matching volunteers with new clients.
- Inform volunteers of upcoming events that could be relevant to the families they serve.
- Inform volunteers of changes to any procedures.
- Stays in contact with Group Leads from delivery volunteer teams for updates, needs, etc.
Other Requirements: (can be completed once hired)
- Food Handler License
- Civil Rights Training through the Central Texas Food Bank
