Camp Nikos Highlights
We are so thankful for all that took place at our Summer Camp Nikos and give God all the glory for how we saw Him work at camp this year! We had 150 total attendants who got to experience God work personally in their lives, witness His love in action, and become family amongst one another. Our elementary-aged campers had days full of fun that included activities, swimming, games, building friendships, and learning more about God. Our counselors got to see God provide in their weakness as they relentlessly loved and served the campers all week long. Every volunteer that served got to see what makes Camp Nikos so unique and special to all our campers, all beginning with how God brings together fellow laborers to work alongside one another for Him.
During our counselor debrief at the end of camp, we got to hear one encouraging story after another of how lives were impacted. A couple of our guy counselors shared similar stories and takeaways. Two of our guy cabins had most of the younger campers together, all around ages 6-8 years old. With our younger campers, it’s sometimes more difficult to know what they’re understanding from the lessons and devotional times. All our counselors were encouraged when they saw that their campers were understanding far more than it might seem. Our cabin leaders from these cabins shared an important and encouraging perspective they held onto throughout camp. Their charge to one another was to love their young campers as much as possible, through every situation that arose, so that they might experience God’s love through them. They knew their conversations with these younger campers might look different than with older campers, but their prayer was that their time at camp would be just as impactful on them. God answered this prayer, and as you see in the picture below from the last day, these young campers absolutely felt loved. This sweet boy hugged his counselor for a couple minutes before leaving to go home, not wanting to let his counselor go.
