The Eastside Community Church is a small, local church located in a beautiful and broken community. There are many wonderful
things about east Austin, and at the same time there is a great need for healing and restoration. We believe God has placed us here to be a blessing, bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed so God will be glorified and our community will flourish (Acts 17:26-27). Based on this conviction, our vision is to be a “family of believers living as Christ’s Body for the good of our community and the glory of God.” A family of believers – In a city full of fragmented families, alienated individuals and diverse but segregated cultures, we envision a church where young and old, single and married, rich and poor, and every ethnicity worship together, bearing witnessto the power of the Gospel. Regardless of age, life stage, race, or economic status, in-Christ we are family (Ephesians 2:19), so we prayerfully work toward diverse, multi-generational worship and discipleship.

Living as Christ’s body – In a city that is skeptical of religion but in desperate need of Jesus Christ, we envision a church where worship and the proclamation of Jesus Christ is complimented by our loving and faithful presence in the lives of each other and our neighbors. As members of Christ’s body (1 Corinthians 12:27), we serve one another and live out the life and teaching of Christ to our neighbors in a tangible way so they might see the Gospel and give glory to our Father in Heaven (Matthew 5:16). For the good of our community and the glory of God – We believe that living as Christ’s body should benefit our city, bringing spiritual and social renewal as we engage every man, woman, and child with the life-changing reality of Jesus. We long to see our city flourish through the life-giving power of the Gospel, having favor with people and glorifying God as He draws souls to Himself (Acts 2:47).
