Praises from the Summer
As this summer is coming to an end, we want to reflect on & praise God for all that He has been doing!
Entering into camps, our prayers were for God’s will to be done, for us to be His vessels, and for His power to be seen through our weakness. As we look to Him daily, God continues to use us for His glory and purposes. So as we reflect on this summer of 2024, all we can do is praise Him for all the ways we’ve continually seen Him provide, encourage, and transform lives!
From providing patience for our camp counselors to softening camper’s hearts to the love of Jesus, experiencing all the provision encourages our hearts and fills us with joy as we continue on our mission into this new school year.
Will you join us in two specific areas of prayer?
1. Thanking God for all He has done this summer
2. Fruitful ministry for this upcoming school year

Summer Camp Nikos: At our Summer Camp Nikos, one of our boy campers decided to trust and follow Jesus! Him and his counselor got to continue having conversations throughout camp about what following Jesus means and looks like. After camp ended, we received an email from his counselor asking how he could stay connected with his camper. He didn’t want their relationship to end at camp, but wanted to find out how to get involved with our Big Fish Club ministry to continue pouring into his camper. We’re praising God for this camper’s heart transformation & his counselor’s desire for further discipleship!
Summer Day Camp: A couple years ago, we saw a need and opportunity to offer a day camp during the summer at our ministry center in East Austin. Many of our Big Fish Club kids aren’t able to attend Camp Nikos since it’s overnight. Remaining connected with them over the summer was needed if we wanted to see deeper and healthier relationships form. As Day Camp became part of our summer rhythms, we not only wanted to build greater trust with the kids, but their parents as well. At this year’s Summer Day Camp, this was able to happen! We had 3 different families who we only knew from Big Fish Club that sent their kids to day camp. This allowed us to build greater trust with their family and connect in a deeper way. We’re praising God for opportunities to build deeper connections and trust with our families in the community!
Back to School Bash: We handed out over 270 backpacks at our Back to School Bash this year! Alongside handing out supplies, we were able to connect with our community program families and some new ones from the neighborhood as well. One of these families is a single mom with two kids that lives right down the street from Mission Possible. She arrived late, after all the backpacks had been passed out, but thankfully we were able to meet and talk with her to still help with this need. We have since been able to provide school supplies and support her in other ways during this challenging season for her family, including connecting her with our BAGS Food Pantry ministry. We’re praising God for His provision and how He allows relationships to naturally form and build, all while meeting tangible needs in our community!
