It is our goal to love our neighbors by encouraging women to preserve the life of their baby. We will not only help to bring the baby into this world but we are also prepared to come alongside and continue to assist the family with the “Earn While You Learn” curriculum and the various family programs at Mission: Possible! Austin. Our neighbors will receive the services, at no cost, in a safe environment.
We are instituting a nationally acclaimed program, “Earn While You Learn.” This program provides useful knowledge and instruction on how to be a good parent and in the process, form healthy bonds with our Christ-centered advocates. Clients may earn points for each completed “life skills” class that can be used to receive items from our boutique like baby clothes, diapers, wipes, formula, etc. With “Earn While You Learn,” our neighbors leave our center with much needed items and with pride in their sense of accomplishment. The skills they learn are crucial to the emotional, spiritual and physical well-being of their babies and break cycles of poor parenting, neglect and abuse. This is a way of impacting generations by making real and permanent changes through top quality teaching and compassion.
“Earn While You Learn” pairs a young woman with a client advocate who meets with her regularly. Every lesson earns “Life Skills Points” and completed homework earns more points to purchase items from the boutique. If the daddy attends the classes, double points are earned and fathers are learning as well. “Earn While You Learn” has been proven to make a positive impact on the lives of young mothers and a lifelong impact on their children. Our current need is to purchase the curriculum for implementation at Lifeline Pregnancy Resource Center. We need to purchase the DVDs, books and follow-up materials on parenting. It takes a considerable amount of material to be able to offer these lessons.
We are asking individuals to help underwrite this vital program that offers 230 valuable lessons. Would you be willing to help with the cost of purchasing this curriculum? The DVDs are professionally done and give a realistic view of raising children as a single mother or as a family unit. It will motivate the family unit to continue coming to the center for parenting classes and mentoring. The cost for the complete curriculum package is $15,000.00. The kit comes both in English and Spanish with all training materials and support documentation. We plan to implement this program as soon as possible.
